The Diaghilev seasons, the world of the Russian estates and Cartier jewelry brand – all intertwined in our special summer evening at Arkhangelskoye. As a token of the long-standing bond with the Yusupov house, Cartier decided to bring back the historic rose garden at the Arkhangelskoye estate, once known as the Russian Versailles. The guests of the evening enjoyed a chance to wander around the exquisite rooms of the palace as if accompanied by its former inhabitants, as the interactive palace tour was largely based on the memoirs of Felix Yusupov and his family’s correspondence.
After the interactive tour, the guests were invited to the laying of the rose garden. This was followed by a one-act ballet, "The Vision of a Rose" by von Weber, once staged by Mikhail Fokin. The choice was by no means accidental, since the Diaghilev seasons were once a great source of inspiration for Cartier jewelry house. For Bell’Arte, this evening was also special, as "Promenade Concerts at Arkhangelskoye" was our pilot project, and it was a joy be back to this magnificent space.
