At the premiere of Alice in Wonderland, the audience could expect to be fully immersed in the eerie and magical atmosphere created by Tim Burton based on the works of Lewis Carroll. In the Wonderland formal portrait Gallery, guests were able to look at themselves through false mirrors with hands in white gloves sticking out from the holes in the wall. Each guest was invited to take a trip during which they each seemed to shrink to a tiny size. On the second floor of the cinema was a huge table set for a mad hatter’s tea party. Under the huge table was a garden with gravel pathways and real, but very large flowers and herbs. Particularly interesting was being able to climb up onto a giant chair and look out across the table to see the huge cup of tea, cakes and pudding.
